Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) showcased its expanding technological prowess at Computex in Taiwan, demonstrating that the company is “so much more than GPUs,” according to Wells Fargo analysts in a Sunday note.
In his keynote at National Taiwan University, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang introduced several groundbreaking developments, including the Blackwell Ultra chip slated for 2025 and the next-gen Rubin platform anticipated for 2026. Additionally, the company highlighted the widespread adoption of its Spectrum-X Ethernet AI-optimized networking platform.
Wells Fargo analysts emphasized the significance of the Spectrum-X Ethernet platform, particularly its capability to support 512 radix scaling by 2025 with the Spectrum-X800 Ultra and 102.4T silicon. This will enable scaling to millions of GPUs by 2026 with the Spectrum-X1600. They noted, “Nvidia emphasized that Spectrum-X will move to an annual cadence.”
The newly unveiled Rubin platform, expected in 2026, will feature advanced components such as the NVLink v6 switch, Vera CPUs, and the CX9 SuperNIC. The Rubin GPU will include 8 HBM4 chips, while the “Rubin Ultra” will boast 12 HBM4 chips.
Moreover, Nvidia announced that it would launch its DRIVE platform with Mercedes in 2025 and Jaguar-Land Rover in 2026. Wells Fargo analysts highlighted the significance of these partnerships, viewing them as “inflection points for Nvidia’s Auto segment.”
Additional key points from the event included Nvidia’s focus on NVDA Inference Microservices (NIMs), leveraging a base of hundreds of millions of CUDA GPUs. Analysts noted, “CUDA has now reached a virtuous cycle; underpinned by a +5 million developer ecosystem spanning across almost every industry.”
Wells Fargo also mentioned that Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell GPUs are already in production, with sample shipments expected in the second fiscal quarter of 2025 and revenue ramping in the second half of 2025. These GPUs exhibit significant improvements in energy efficiency, reducing energy per token created by over 300 times in the past eight years.
